DioKat® BTMS-50 is a behenyl-based (C22) cationic quaternary ammonium salt conditioning emulsifier. Due to the quaternary ammonium salt activity of about 55%, it has excellent thickening effect and brings significant thickening to the emulsified formula paste. As a C22 methylsulfate quaternary ammonium salt, it is more hydrophobic in nature and more likely to deposit cationic positively charged ends and lipids on the hair than the regular C18 quaternary ammonium salt, thus providing better conditioning properties. At the same time, the hydrophobicity and deposition behavior of BMS-50 make the product have excellent dry hair combing, and have excellent tunability without deposition with other polymer quaternary ammonium compounds, and the formulation is easy to apply. BTMS-50 is a pastillated 50% active Behenyl (C22) quaternary conditioning agent and cationic emulsifier based on patented chemistry that enables the product to be supplied volatile-free and at the highest possible activity. BTMS 50 is supplied in a fatty alcohol/glycol solvent, making it safer and more environmentally friendly than other analogs that are traditionally supplied in Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). As such, the product contains no volatile solvents, is non-hazardous and easier to handle.
